General Terms and Conditions

• Registration for a course can be made either by mailing the completed registration form or by personal registration during offices hours ((Monday und Tuesday, von 09.00 a.m. - 2.00 p.m., Wednesday 12.00 p.m. - p.m. and Thursday and Friday 9:00 a.m. - 2.00 p.m.) at the "Institut für Sprachen", Die Freiheit 14, 34117 Kassel. The course fee must be paid at the time of registration.
• Course fees must always be paid in advance. Possible methods of payment are in cash or bank transfer. For courses with monthly payment or payment in instalments, the method of payment must be defined in a "Course Education Contract".
• After completion of the registration form and payment of the course fee, a place in the respective course is reserved for the applicant. The registration is then considered definite. In the case of a cancellation before the start of a course (that is until the last working day before the courses start until 14 o'clock), the course fee will be repaid after deduction of a cancellation fee of 100.00 euros. A cancellation after the course has commenced cannot be accepted. In these cases, pre-paid course fees will not be reimbursed, outstanding course fees are due. There will be no reimbursement of the course fee in the case of interruption or cancellation of an ongoing course by the participant for personal reasons such as illness, etc.
• Lessons which have to be cancelled due to illness of a teacher or for internal / organisational reasons on the part of the IfS will be made up. In special courses without duration limit, those lessons which coincide with official holidays will not be made up.
• In cases where a course has to be cancelled due to illness of a teacher, insufficient number of participants, etc., the registered participants will be informed as soon as possible about the cancellation of the respective course. Course fees paid in advance will be reimbursed in full. In no other cases can any  further claims for refund or compensation be accepted.
• Cancellation policy for accommodations booked through the IfS:
  -Cancellation up to one month before tenancy period begins: free of charge. The same applies to cancellations made by the Institut für Sprachen, even if no reason is given or even in the case that you have already received a booking confirmation.
  -Cancellation less than one month before tenancy period begins or In case of not arriving without further notice: 100 % of the agreed rent. If there are changes concerning the length or the dates of the tenancy period, please make sure to contact us in well in advance, so that we are able to reach a mutually satisfactory solution
  -Subsequent price increases are possible due to the supply of the market. Subsequent price discounts are not possible, also in the case of premature termination of the rental agreement.
• Disclaimer: registrations from abroad can only be cancelled in cases where the visa application of an applicant has been rejected by the German Embassy of the respective country. The original notice of rejection issued by the Embassy, as well as the original letter of admission issued by the IfS, have to be presented in such cases, in order for the cancellation to be accepted and the course fees reimbursed. After the applicant's entry into Germany it is neither possible to cancel the course nor to refund the course fees. In case of cancellation we reserve the right to charge an administrative fee amounting to 20 % or at least 100,00 € of the amount paid for course fees and extra services. Refunds are normally issued within six weeks.
• In case of application from countries not requiring a visa to enter the Federal republic of Germany, no further documents have to be presented – an administrative fee amounting to 20 % or at least 100,00 € of the amount paid for course fees will be charged. After start of the course it is neither possible to cancel the course nor to refund the course fees. Cancellation is only possible till the last office day 2 pm prior to the first course day.
• A booked course is non-transferrable!
• A booked course cannot be offset against other courses!
